El vi presenta un color groc brillant amb reflexos verdosos. L’Il·lusió desprèn aromes d’herbes mediterrànies (espígol i farigola), fruita blanca madura (pera i préssec blanc) i un toc cítric. En boca és ple i marcadament mediterrani; l’envelliment amb les mares li aporta volum i profunditat. Els sòls argilosos li confereixen una lleugera mineralitat que, juntament amb l’acidesa, li dona potencial per evolucionar i desenvolupar-se en ampolla durant mesos o fins i tot anys. Un vi captivador per la seva fruita delicada, harmonia i personalitat distintiva.

The wine displays a bright yellow colour with green reflections. Il·lusió reveals aromas of Mediterranean herbs (lavender and thyme), ripe white fruits (pear and white peach), and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it is full-bodied and distinctly Mediterranean, with the ageing on the lees adding volume and depth. The clay soils lend a touch of minerality, which, together with their natural acidity, gives the wine the potential to age gracefully for several months or even years. This wine enchants with its delicate fruit, balance, and distinctive character.

Elaboració

Per elaborar l’Il·lusió, el raïm es macera durant aproximadament entre 4 i 6 hores. La fermentació es duu a terme a una temperatura controlada d’entre 14 °C i 16 °C. Abans de l’embotellat, el vi reposa uns quatre mesos en dipòsits d’acer inoxidable, amb freqüents remoguts de les mares (bâtonnage) per aportar més complexitat.

Winemaking

To produce Il·lusió, the grapes are macerated for about 4 to 6 hours. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 14°C and 16°C. Before bottling, the wine rests for around four months in stainless steel tanks, with frequent bâtonnage of the lees to enhance its complexity.

El Celler Xavier Clua es troba a Vilalba dels Arcs, a la comarca catalana de la Terra Alta, un territori de secà on el conreu de la vinya i la producció de vi té una tradició d’origen medieval.

Des de fa quatre generacions, el cognom Clua ha estat lligat al treball de la vinya i la producció de vi. La darrera generació, encapçalada per Xavier Clua, acumula l’experiència d’aquesta tradició vitivinícola amb la formació universitària que aporta la introducció de les noves tècniques i mètodes de treball de la vinya i la vinificació dels seus productes.

A poc a poc, els productes del Celler Xavier Clua es van fent un nom al món del vi i l’empresa familiar va creixent, incorporant nous valors al projecte com Rosa Domènech. Un creixement que exigeix la disposició d’unes noves instal·lacions, més àmplies i modernes, que esdevenen una realitat l’any 2006, amb la construcció d’un nou celler.

The Xavier Clua wine cellar is located in Vilalba dels Arcs, in the Terra Alta region of Catalonia. In this dry, sunny area, vine-growing and wine production have been a tradition since medieval times.

For four generations, the name Clua has been closely tied to the culture of vineyards and wine production. The latest generation, led by Xavier Clua, combines the experience of this viticultural tradition with university training, bringing new perspectives and techniques both to viticulture and winemaking.

More and more, the products of the Cellar Clua acquire a name in the wine world, and the family enterprise has grown with the addition of Rosa Domenech, Xavier’s wife and an experienced oenologist in her own right. With this growth, it became increasingly necessary to expand to a newer, more modern site.
